You now have puncture-proof tubeless wheels! You need to ensure the
sealant gets all over the inside.
Now shake it all about. Get latex all over the inside. Forward &
back, rotate slightly, forward & back. All the way round, two or
three times at least.
Cut off the excess tube. I now use scissors for a safer but slightly
less neat finish. The alternative is a Stanley blade as follows: Do
this CAREFULLY! You can easily cut the tyre.
Stanley blade as pictured with a load of electrical tape over one
end to avoid finger accidents. Run the blade blunt-side to the tyre,
sharp side to the tube, pulling the tube gently away from the rim.
Works well.
Leave them like this for a few minutes or longer. Best go for a
gentle ride to spread the latex around. Reduce the pressure to your
preferred ride - you might find this is harder than your preferred
tubed pressure due to increased flex in the tubeless set-up. I ride
under 40 PSI, about 36.
Ride on, and enjoy life without pinch flats.
