Things to do with bikes.
I love to cycle, whether on the road or (preferably) off the
road. Scotland is a fantastic place to cycle. Mountain Biking
is very well catered for thanks to the landscape, and to the
Forestry Comission.
Here's a video of me coming down the singletrack at Mabie forest, filmed by Ross.
The Forestry Comission owns a lot of Scotland, and most of
their land is mountainous or at least hilly. Their desire to
stay relevant as a Government body in the modern context of an
uncommercial timber market means that they are opening their
forests up to leisure use more and more - and to support this
they have Enterprise schemes to support businesses serving
these leisure pursuits.
The pre-eminent example is Glentress forest, where I go as
much as I can. I'll add links to Glentress and the rest of the
"Seven Stanes" sites when I have time. The main Seven Stanes site is
here.
In the meantime here's some other random bike stuff. See sidebar menu for these items.
